MEDICAL

MSI Canada began sending medical teams to China in 1998. We partnered with a rural hospital in Sichuan province.

Since then, internists, surgeons, anesthetists, orthopedic surgeons, pediatricians, obstetricians & gynecologists, neurologists, dentists, family physicians, nurses, optometrists, lab medicine personnel, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, dietitians, pharmacists, etc. have joined our medical teams to serve in different hospitals.

Our medical teams continue to work in different sites and in partnership with national, provincial and local health authorities in developing and upgrading medical services in needy areas.

What do medical teams do?

  • Provide direct patient care, while working side by side with Chinese health care personnel

  • Give lectures and demonstrations for hospital staff, village doctors and medical students

  • Donate medical equipment and medications

  • Provide funding for local doctors and health care personnel to receive advanced training

  • Run clinics and host health fairs in rural outposts for villagers

  • Provide love and care through Christian witness

We are looking for Christian health care professionals who have a burden for China to join us in providing medical services and Christian witness in China.

We welcome inquiries from professionals from all health care fields.  Examples of our 2015 projects include:

  • Geriatrics doctor or nurse to evaluate the situation of elderly work in a county.

  • Specialists in breast cancer, ICU, maternal and Pediatrics areas to train hospital staff.

  • Rehab specialists to provide rehab training to teachers and caregivers in a special education school; or to provide training in stroke rehab, cerebral palsy in different sites.
